First Race of 2013

Official results are in for the 2013 MB Half Marathon. It's actually pretty interesting because a couple of posts down are the results from the 2009 marathon. In the past 4 years since that first half, I have fun about 5 more halfs and improved the time in this marathon 17 minutes, which is really pretty good (although still not my PR, which was in Atlanta). Thank goodness Meloney was there to pull me through those 13 miles!!

The next big race is the Cooper River Bridge weekend of running and biking and then the Diva half marathon in late April. Goal is to really train between now and then and run faster than 2:15.

It's been a long time....

I began this blog back when I lived at the beach and was starting to exercise again and wanted to be able to do a triathlon. At the time, it was literally a couch to tri experience, but the triathlon part didn't really ever happen as I had hoped. Since then, I have completed multiple half marathons, finished a couple of century bike rides including a double century, and finished a couple of sprints triathlons.

So why come back here and try to do this whole thing over again. Well, I have now signed up for the half iron man triathlon in Augusta, GA in September. This distance includes a 1.2 mile swim, 56 miles on the bike, and 13.1 mile run. And, while I have completed all of the distances individually, I have never put them all together for one long event.

My newest goal then is to complete the Augusta Half Iron Man!
